When carrying out such tasks as creating a music video the creators of such music texts are using material which is not theirs such as songs owned by the artist or their record label - the material is not the creators own.
To ensure we are not infringing any copyright legislation when creating our music video we had to ask the artist (Avril Lavigne) permission to use her song in our media piece. I did this through my Twitter account and asking the artist on her official twitter page. We have not yet received a reply but we take this as we have permission from her.
