FILMING: Avril Lavigne - My Happy Ending

Wednesday 19th October - As we have been putting our video together we have had concerns in terms of the fact that most of the performance shots include Kate in the same costume - either the tutu outfit or the blue jeans outfit. Therefore, we felt performance shots in the graveyard were necessary - we did this after school today. Filming Kate next to grave stones and walking through the graveyard to portray the notion of death.

Here is a photo of the costume Kate wore. We decided upon this choice of clothing as we felt the dress with skulls and roses on it with a net underlay teamed with black laced tights etc amplified a rock pop feel as skulls, black, statement making textures etc are generic conventions of thhe rock pop genre and we hope this will genere will be communicated to our target audience through these choices.

Below are stills from Market Rasen, Graveyard opposite school. You may be wondering why we did not film at Gemma`s local graveyard in Wickenby as originally planned. We decided not to film at Wickenby and film in Market Rasen graveyard instead as it was easier to access due to it being directly opposite school and therefore it was just a case of walking across the road instead of having to transport ourselves and the equipment to Wickenby. Also, we decided upon Market Rasen graveyard because as I say it is directly opposite school and therefore if we need to film anymore scenes within the graveyard we can do with ease. class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

During this time we also took photos that we could possibly use in the ancillary task. These can be seen below.

When taking these images we was trying to capture the expression of emotion which is often seen within the rock pop genre while trying to emphasise the emotion of the song - "My Happy Ending" as within our music video we want to amplify the theme of love vs heartbreak. Therefore, this emotion and theme needs to be  instantly communicated to our target audience within our ancillary tasks (digipak and magazine advertisement).
